The Other Half of the West

Judith Durr awarded the

Governor's Choice Award.

Judith Durr has been honored to participate in  Cowgirl Up! Show for 11 years. This national women's show and sale is held at the Desert Caballeros Western Museum in Wickenburg, Arizona.

Cowgirl Up! Is nationally recognized as the foremost prestigious exhibition and sales designed to showcase the “other half of the West” – work created solely by women artists who are capturing the spirit of the West and its lifestyle. 56 to 58 women artists have been specially invited to participate in the annual event held at the Desert Caballeros Western Museum, Wickenburg, Arizona.

Cowgirl Up!! has become the most important exhibition and sale for Western women artists in the country.  This is where the mythic West of the 19th century meets the 21st century West.

Desert Caballeros Western Museum display and interpret treasures that defy stereotypes about Western art and history and connect people to the West by triggering intellectual and emotional responses. Our definition of Western American art encompasses new styles, themes and subject matter, blurring boundaries, questioning traditional styles, and shaping perceptions of the landscapes and peoples of the West. Wind your way down the trail to Wickenburg to experience the Old West, the New West, and the Next West – a place of possibilities that holds the promise of renewal.
